Hi new friends at Christian Audio!
I'm glad to learn of you!
I have been a subscriber for years to Audible.com and just downloaded 5 books from you today (2 March freebies, 1 Fuller Alumn discounted bk, and 2 Piper March sale books).
In my view, what makes a good audio book is to NOT break it into disks, but to package it for streaming in one large download (or more, only if necessary) with TRACK markers for chapters of the book (print version).
This makes all the difference in the world--downloading is much faster and finding your place when returning to reading is much easier!
The ONLY book from Audible I was ever disappointed with, is one that was not created as I explained above--the TNIV. (It wasn't an Audible created book, put produced by another company and sold by them.) Imagine--the entire Bible arranged by disks and not books! Wow, it's really hard to use this recording the way I want to. Thus, I usually read the Bible with my ears (which I do annually, and with my eyes over several years), with any version OTHER than that TNIV.
There's my two cents worth! If you take these tips you will please, keep, and attract a whole lot more customers.

Deborah, thanks for your input! Although a valid and good idea, the closest we'll probably get to fulfilling that request is the ability to have "one-click" zip downloads in our new site.
Thanks for your thoughts though, we're always very interested to hear what our users think about the site and their suggestions!

I couldn't agree more. I have somewhere around 125 Audiobooks in my Audible.com Library. I have also referred more than 10 friends to them over the years so that they can redeem the time they spend in the car or working out etc and listen to God honoring teachings and audiobooks.
2 things stop me from a wholesale move to ChristianAudio.com.
1) Audible.com has more Christian titles.
2) The long, drawn-out process of downloading and importing any book I buy from ChristianAudio.com into my media program and then onto my MP3 player. I can't imagine sending my mother-in-law or older friend to Christianaudio.com and explaining how you have to download each chapter in a 37 chapter book one at a time. Telling them how to create a new folder, create an artist/album mask for the downloading and then click and wait on barely-there dsl for the whole book to get there... one track at a time. Then they have to import the files, and rename all tracks over 10 so that they will play in order on an MP3 player. Not a chance.
Please, give us a better option. Lord knows you have the vision and the ability. How about implementing it?
Thanks for listening,
Chad Huber-
Thanks for your comments and suggestions!
I'm pretty sure we actually have more Christian titles than Audible, as they categorize many titles as "Religion & Spirituality" that we would not carry on christianaudio as they are not actually a Christian-type of title.
Also, as we are planning a one-click zip download option with the new site, hopefully this will satisfy the "long, drawn-out" process and still give you the highest quality audiobook we can provide! -

Hi Nathaniel,
I couldn't agree more with the "Religion and Spirituality" category and the inherent problems that brings when they lump all the junk in with the Christian books. I guess, I could more correctly state that many times I have looked for audiobook titles in both locations and Audible had it and Christianaudio.com didn't. This might just be a difference in publisher agreements and not a quantity issue.
I hate to keep making this point because I am just counting the days until you make the few changes that will bring many of us over from the competition. I have and will continue to support ChristianAudio.com. I want to spend my dollars with a God-Honoring company that shares my faith and priorities.
Let's learn a few lessons from some things they have done right and blend that with your unique business model.
Give me one click downloads and usable mp3 tags and I'm switched-over full time immediately. Those are the last 2 sticking points for someone who listens to 2-4 audiobooks per month plus a dozen or so podcasts.
Thanks for listening, can't wait for the new site!

Once again, thanks so much for your comments! We really value the customer's input.
You would be correct in stating there must be a difference in publisher agreements. There are several titles that Audible may carry that christianaudio does not as we have been unable to come to a mutual agreement with a few Christian audio publishers. -

Any idea when the new version of the website will be up and running?
