MP3 player displays the files in a foreign language. Not good.
I downloaded a book purchase recently and the text shows up as "Chinese" or similar when displayed on my MP3 player. How can I get an English version of the files?

Steve, this is quite confusing as we don't even have the ability to tag files in any language other than English. However, we can try and figure it out.
What mp3 playing device are you using and what title are you having problems with? Did you purchase the actual CD audiobook or a download from our site?-

I purchased a download. It is "Knights of Arrethtrae #1: Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione"... I am using a Creative Zen MP3 player. I purchased and downloaded an earlier series (from Chuck Black as well) that did just fine. I believe I purchased it from you folks as well.

Quite odd...my recommendation would be to delete the files from your mp3 player and system and try the download from your My Account section on our site again. We've checked the files and it just isn't possible for us to tag them using anything but English letters and characters. Maybe try downloading using a different Internet browser and ensure you are not using a beta release or a download manager.

Steve, were you able to resolve the problem by deleting and re-downloading the files?

Well...I tried something before I went to the trouble of downloading it all again. My reported problem took place while I was playing the book from an expansion card on the MP3. When I copied one of the segments directly to the MP3 and played from there, it all behaved normally. So, when played from the SD card it displays in Chinese but from the device the exact same book segment displays in English. What does that sound like? I loaded up an older Chuck Black book onto the same expansion card and it displayed just fine. Hmmm...???

That is an interesting problem. I have no idea why that would have happened...glad to hear it's displaying correctly now though!
