ESV not consistently divided into chapters
Hi, I bought the ESV Hear The Word by David Cochran Heath, but I have problems. Why are most of the books divided into chapters, but some the most important ones, such as Acts, Romans, and Psalms, are not divided, but are one undivided audio file? The Psalms is one single 4:50 audio file with no divisions! (This is the Apple M4B format). Is this an unfinished product?

We're sorry for any inconvenience this has caused and we are looking into this now.
For the M4B format, you should have 66 files (one for each book of the bible) and each file will have bookmarks for each chapter. So you could easily load, for example, the Psalm file and go to chapter 89.
My understanding of your error report is that it is just one large file with no bookmarking?- view 3 more comments

ryan.burr November 29, 2011 02:42I was about to buy this, but this is really not good enough, please divide the bible into one chapter per file - ie. Genesis has 50 chapters so it should have 50 mp3 files. I'll postpone buying until this happens.EditDeleteRemove

Nathaniel (Web Director) November 29, 2011 16:30Ryan, this title has actually been completely redone in the past few months. MP3 files are now by chapter and foldered by book!EditDeleteRemove

Well, it is the M4B file, but it acts differently in iTunes than on my two iPods. (Touch and Classic). iTunes recognizes the chapters in Psalms and Romans, etc, but the iPods think that those files don't have chapters. Most of the other books in the same ESV Bible have chapters that work fine on both iPods.

Interesting...ok, we'll check this against our iPods and let you know.

Any changes on this audiobook? Has an updated one been posted?

We've checked the files against all our devices and cannot recreate the error. Have you updated to the newest OS on the iPod?

Is there any chance we could see a zip file containing separate files for each chapter? I don't use an iPod, so unfortunately the M4B fix doesn't help me much. Thanks for the consideration

We're looking into all the download formats offered for our bibles and hope to rectify this soon!

I use the M4B files for the ESV, but the file for Psalms won't play after around Psalm 110 or so (somewhere around 3:40:00). So the last hour won't play, either on iTunes or on my iPod Nano. Any suggestions?
