Can I download a whole book with one click?

I know this is going to seem like a repeat of a previous question, but it isn't. I would like to know if it is possible to tell the system to download a whole book with one click. I downloaded the Pilgrams Progress Revisited, but I had to click Download on each individual file. Is there a way to tell the system to download all of the files in sequence, one after the other?

With the launch of our new site (October 20th), One-Click downloads are now available for the vast majority of titles on our site.

If a title you'd like to download is missing a ZIP, please contact customer service and we'd be happy to move your title up in the queue! http://christianaudio.com/contact

Hey Richard, if you use Firefox you can use the DownThemAll extension. It works fine to download all the book parts automatically :-)

  Hi Mark, have you found a good way to do this without guessing which files are the mp3 versions? I always end up with either some or all of the wma's een though they are hidden from the viewable list on the page. I assume the links are hidden but dTa finds them and tries to download them as well. It's a frustrating but decent workaround. - Thanks!

  Hi Chad, using DownThemAll, go to the download page, right click and select DownThemAll option, in the Fast filtering text field type "token" and click the Start! button. This should automatically download all formats, if you would like only one format, just "tweak" the filtering option. Works great. Good luck :)

  Hi, Nathaniel. Just a quick comment on the irony of your comment. (No hating intended.) Six months ago, you told another Richard that "we will be offering one-click download in the new site! " Then, four months ago, Mark offered Richard a solution a third-party solution. You warned, "Please just remember that we at christianaudio do not recommend or support third-party download tools at this time." Could that be something you might want to consider? I don't know how big your computer staff is, but this might be a way to shave some time from your conversion. (Continue below with comment to Chad Huber). (This is not the original Richard.)

  Hello, again, Nathaniel. To continue with my comment from under Mark's suggestion: You mention in your response to Chad that the slow-down is due to the magnitude of the conversion you are doing. Is Christian Audio staffed with a large enough team of programmer/analysts/project director(s), etc. to carry out such a major conversion? I've been through a few total conversions. Most required either additional manpower (outsourcing) or some serious automated conversion software. Data Processing departments I've been associated with can't really absorb the extra workload while continuing the everyday workload. In a couple of cases, I WAS the new guy hired to help absorb the extra workload. (No brag, just fact.) (This is not the original Richard.)

Where can I download the book I ordered, every time I click on something it takes me to another page. I keep going in circles.

christian audio is no different from most sites that offer audio books there is only one company i know of that offers 1 click downloading and it has its own software you have to download to your computer to have this conveinence i use it as well but christian audio is less expensive in most cases and has a larger library of christian publications and connections and if they are making a new site that will give the option of 1 click download then i would say they will be on top of all the rest yeh! you go christian audio

  I'm beginning to think this might be a stumbling block for Christianaudio, If something were being worked on full-time and with focus it certainly wouldn't take this long. I hope it comes quickly, I haven't bought a book from ya'll since the last 14 part download that frustrated my afternoon. Maybe it's time to farm out some of the backend stuff??

I also downloaded Pilgram's Progress by selecting each part. Then I went to another window and read e-mail or something. I don't understand the problem, I guess. If you found this inconvenient, then don't even think about downloading The Year of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs; even though I think it's pretty entertaining.

This is not directed at anyone in particular but, I have been surprised at some of the comments and the impatience being displayed towards christianaudio and towards Nathaniel. Presumably the comments are being made by christians to a christian company and brother in the Lord. If that is the case then they have been less than kind. Examine your hearts. Maybe God is testing you in the area of patience. If so some of you have failed miserably.

Believe me when I tell you that I too am looking forward to the one click option. But until then I will patiently download one file at a time.

Lord bless christianaudio's ministry. Help those who are revamping thier system to provide the one click option.

Lord thank you for Nathaniel and his demonstration of patience displayed in the answers he has given.

Lord may you be glorified through this process.

  I would actually like to answer your question as if it is directed to at least me in particular. First of all, you are correct in saying that Nathaniel has handled himself professionally and with composure as we have (very politely.. if directly) prodded him/Christianaudio about this issue. That's one reason why I'm sticking around and waiting for them to achieve this next step. Now, to answer your comments about failing the God-directed-patience-exam... It's not that simple. We, as Christians do not get nor give each other a "free pass" when it comes to the quality of our work or the substance of our promises. Now, we DO (at least we are supposed to) keep a healthy HEART connection with our brothers/sisters in the faith. We do not let petty and silly issues like a website or product cloud the fact that Jesus is our common ancestor and we share a mission on earth.
  
  That doesn't mean that I would expect someone to excuse sub-par work from me in my business because we are both Christians. That's a horrible example of turning the other cheek. I can both expect a quality product / service and express my frustration with a business transaction without calling names or hurting feelings. How else are we supposed to know when and why our customers are purchasing from other sources? Would you rather they get no feedback after more than 6 months of talking about the same issue? I think that as people called to be in the ministry of providing Christ-Honoring audio, the staff at christianaudio recognizes that they are to honor him with their products and technology as well. If someone isn't dedicated to their long-term success then they would have simply wandered off and never visited the site again. Does that help explain my point of view? I'm not mad at them, I pray for their success... but I do expect excellence and follow-through on their words. That does Glorify God.   Once again, I'm sorry for the delay and I thank you all for your honest opinions, questions, and transparent thoughts. We are working diligently to finish the site and have only delayed the official launch to ensure the new system is 100% stable and all the new features are in working order. I may have jumped the gun before in giving a optimistic launch time frame, but we are now closer than we have ever been and will begin our private beta invites very soon!

I already left some comments, but didn't understand these smiley things. But, at the moment, I just find it all amusing, because a) I'm not sure why the individual downloads are such a big deal (not to belittle the frustration that the original poster or any of the rest of you feels), and b) I can soooo empathize with Nathaniel, et al, over trying to get the new monster under control. I hope that doesn't sound insensitive to anyone else's feelings.

I too have been waiting for the 1 click download. Richard, it is such a big deal because some of us have only a few minutes to spare. I am a business owner, mother of three, wife, sister, daughter, cook, gardener, and on and on and on. I have so little time the one click system keeps me going back to my original audio book club. I am certainly not going to cancel my membership here, because I love the selection, but I am waiting for the new site to make my next purchase.

Nathaniel, I do understand that things come up and i's difficult to place a time frame on such a difficult job as building a website. I too would rather wait until it's up and running properly to begin use. Otherwise, we are all only going to be more frustrated. Thanks for keeping us informed.
